Postgraduate scholarship

Morag Campbell, the first Strathmartine Trust scholar, with Prof TC Smout, chairman of trusteesTrustees are delighted to announce that the three-year postgraduate Strathmartine Trust Scholarship has been awarded to Morag Allan Campbell (pictured with Professor T C Smout, chairman of trustees). Morag will be furthering her postgraduate research on puerperal insanity at Dundee Asylum, which was the subject of her MA dissertation at The Open University, and for which she was awarded a distinction.

The Scholarship will be held in the Institute of Scottish Historical Research in the School of History at the University of St Andrews, and the supervisor of Morag’s research is Professor R A Houston. She will be using the research facilities in the Strathmartine Centre and occupying a study room. Morag's scholarship began in September 2015.
