Services for Users

The Strathmartine Centre is open for use by those who have registered and who pay a small quarterly fee, currently £30 per quarter. This includes access to the Centre Library and kitchen facilities, and invitations to our monthly coffee mornings, where registered users get together to present their current research projects to one another in an informal setting.

Study Rooms and Amenities

The Strathmartine Centre also has four study rooms available for registered users, on a single or shared basis. One room is currently home to the University of St Andrews' 'History of the University Project', which has engaged a series of PhD students to undertake research on aspects of the history of Scottish University education for the 600th aniversary of the University early next decade.

We currently have a few desks available for registered users. Please contact the Director for further information (E-Mail Dr Barbara Crawford).

The centre also has a fully equipped kitchen and common room for Centre Users, where you can meet to discuss and catch up with other centre members over a tea or coffee. Just outside the kitchen the centre also has a small walled garden complete with patio and a rhubarb patch!

User Fees and Application Forms

The current fee for registered users is £10 per quarter. For users wishing to have regular use of a study room and desk, the current fee is £10 per month. This includes shared costs for the kitchen supplies of tea and coffee. If you wish to apply for either of these facilities please download the forms by clicking the links on the right-hand side above.
